HIPPIE BIRTHDAY FONT: How to Rock/create the “balloon effect”! (For Canva users)

Hello everyone!!

Thank you for reading me and for buying HIPPIE BIRTHDAY. ♥

In this post, I'll share with you how easy it is to create the balloon effect in CANVA.

Keep in mind that this tutorial can also be applied in other programs like Illustrator, Photoshop, and so on.

Why did I choose to do it in Canva?

To be honest, this is my first time using this platform! Can you believe it? I've always used Illustrator for all my designs, and... wow! I'm amazed at how easy it is to create things here.

I know Canva is a hot topic among us graphic designers (it's worth a whole post), but realistically, in my business, the majority of people who buy my fonts are not graphic designers. That's why I decided to create this tutorial in Canva, so that everyone can easily and simply create the balloon effect. (And as I mentioned before, these are the foundations for other design programs like Illustrator and Photoshop).

Before I share the tutorial with you, here are some tips to make everything as easy as possible.

Color palette:

This is one of the things that will make the whole process easier, so I recommend having your color palette ready in advance to avoid extra work.

Fun fact: Once I had my color palette defined, I created this design in less than 5 minutes!

Layers are your best friends:

Work by knowing and managing your layers. Place the decorations on the bottom layer to avoid extra visible elements.

The outline effect:

This time, I decided not to include the outlined version of the font, so you can adjust the thickness of the outline to your liking.

The font files you need:

You only need these two files ("Hippie birthday SOLID" file and the "Hippie birthday SHINE" file). I decided to include the complete file ("Hippie birthday") just in case you needed it, but believe me, for these designs, I only used the two files I mentioned before.

And now, here's the tutorial.

What did you think? Easy, right?

I hope this mini tutorial was helpful to you, and let the creating begin!

Have a great day.

María.
